Privacy Policy

Last updated: 23 May 2026

This policy describes how Flemo ("Flemo", "we", "us") handles your information. It is provided in good faith as a clear, plain-language draft. Before public launch, have it reviewed by a qualified legal professional for your jurisdiction (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and update the operator/contact details below.

Flemo is a verified-only community and dating application. Because dating apps handle sensitive personal information, including photos used for identity verification, we aim to collect only what we need and to be transparent about how we use it.

1. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details: your email address and a securely hashed password.
  • Verification selfie: a photo you submit at signup, used to confirm you are a real person. We run an automated single-face check on it.
  • Profile information: your name, age, bio, city, photos, interests, prompts, and optional details such as pronouns, gender, orientation, height, education, and occupation.
  • Preferences: who you're looking for and your age range.
  • Content: messages, community posts, event RSVPs, and reports you submit.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: actions like swipes, matches, likes, profile views, and event activity, used to operate core features.
  • Technical data: basic device and connection information needed to deliver and secure the service.
  • Approximate location: the city you provide, used to show local events and nearby people. Flemo does not track precise GPS in the background.

2. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and verify you are a real person.
  • To operate matching, messaging, communities, events, and games.
  • To show you relevant people and local events based on your preferences and city.
  • To keep Flemo safe: detecting abuse, handling reports and blocks, and enforcing our Terms.
  • To process payments for optional premium features.
  • To communicate with you about your account and important service updates.

3. How your information is shared

Flemo does not sell your personal information. Information is shared only as follows:

  • With other members: your profile, photos, and verified status are visible to other verified members as part of the dating and community experience. Messages are shared with the people you match or converse with.
  • With service providers who process data on our behalf: cloud hosting and storage (Amazon Web Services), payment processing (Stripe), and push-notification delivery. These providers are bound to use the data only to provide their services to us.
  • For legal reasons: when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our members or the public.

4. Storage and security

Your data is stored on secured cloud infrastructure (Amazon Web Services, US region). Databases are encrypted at rest and are not publicly accessible; the service is served over HTTPS. Passwords are stored only as salted hashes and are never readable by us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time through our contact form. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain certain records to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, use our privacy request form.

7. Children

Flemo is strictly for adults. You must be at least 18 years old to use the app. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we will delete such accounts if discovered.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide notice within the app.
